The Only Way Home

“Lord, we do not know where You are going…” – John 14:6

Thomas voiced the confusion the disciples all felt. Jesus had just told them He was returning to the Father to prepare a place for those who believe in Him. Though He had explained this many times, the disciples still struggled to grasp it. Thomas’ question opened the door for one of the clearest declarations Jesus ever made: “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” He wasn’t offering directions—He was offering Himself. The path to the Father is not a system, a set of rules, or a religious ladder. It is a Person.

We have the privilege of seeing the full story. We know the prophecies that pointed to Christ. We see how He fulfilled them perfectly. We understand that God requires a perfect sacrifice and that Jesus—sinless, spotless, and willing—shed His blood to make the way to heaven. Yet even with all this clarity, many still question Jesus today. Some insist there are many paths to God. Others believe sincerity alone is enough. But Jesus’ words leave no room for confusion: no one comes to the Father except through Him. Not through commandments, rituals, good works, or religious sincerity—only through Christ.

This message remains deeply unpopular in a world that values inclusivity over truth. People want a broad road, a flexible gospel, and a God who accepts every path. But Jesus lovingly confronts that idea. He is not one way among many—He is the only way. The cross is not one option—it is the only solution. Salvation is not found in effort—it is found in Christ alone. The world may resist this, but heaven rejoices over it.

Where do you stand with Jesus today? Do you believe He is the way, or just a way? Are you tempted to soften His words to fit the world’s expectations? Jesus didn’t leave us guessing—He made the truth unmistakably clear. If you want eternal life, if you want forgiveness, if you want the Father, you must come through Christ. Believe Him. Trust Him. Follow Him. The way home is not complicated—it is Christ Himself.
