“Tomorrow about this time…” – 2 Kings 7:1
Samaria was a city suffocating under siege—fear inside the walls, famine in the streets, and despair in every heart. Into that darkness, God spoke through Elisha: “Tomorrow about this time…” (2 Kings 7:1, NKJV). A promise of abundance in a place of emptiness. God often speaks His greatest assurances when circumstances seem most impossible. When our strength is gone and our options are exhausted, His Word becomes the anchor that steadies the soul.
Yet not everyone received that promise with faith. The king’s officer scoffed, questioning whether God could open “windows in heaven.” His unbelief was not merely doubt—it was a refusal to see beyond what his eyes could measure. Meanwhile, four lepers—outcasts with nothing to offer—took a simple step toward the enemy camp and discovered that God had already moved. The Syrians had fled, and the abundance God promised was waiting. The least likely people became the first witnesses of divine deliverance.
As the lepers gathered food and treasure, their conscience stirred: “We are not doing right… this day is a day of good news.” They realized that blessings are never meant to be buried. God’s provision is meant to be shared. And just as Elisha’s prophecy was fulfilled exactly as spoken, God’s faithfulness proved once again that no word from Him falls to the ground.
Trust God’s promises even when your circumstances contradict them. Take the step He places before you, even if it feels small or uncertain—He may have already prepared the victory ahead of you. And when God brings breakthrough, comfort, or provision, don’t keep it quiet. Someone near you may be waiting for the hope your testimony carries.
