“But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.” – 2 Corinthians 4:3-4
Spiritual warfare doesn’t only target believers—it also targets those who don’t yet know Christ. Paul says the “god of this age has blinded” the minds of unbelievers “lest the light of the gospel… should shine on them” (2 Corinthians 4:4, NKJV). Satan works hard to keep people confused, distracted, and resistant to truth. He blinds minds. He stirs arguments. He fuels doubt. And whether someone believes in Satan or not, he works to keep them in the dark. Today, that darkness often spreads through digital channels. Reports show a rise in online misinformation about Scripture and salvation. Many young people say they feel overwhelmed and unsure of what to believe. That’s not just cultural pressure—it’s spiritual warfare.
This pattern is nothing new. Satan opposes anything connected to God’s plan. He persecutes the holy angels because they serve Christ. He persecutes Christ because He is the Savior. He persecutes Israel because she is part of God’s redemptive story. And he persecutes non‑Christians to keep them from ever seeing the truth. The enemy’s strategy is consistent: confuse, distract, distort, and blind. Jesus warned that the enemy comes to “steal, and to kill, and to destroy” (John 10:10, NKJV). And one of the greatest things he tries to steal is clarity—clarity about who Jesus is and what the gospel means.
But the light of Christ is stronger than the darkness. The gospel still breaks chains. The Spirit still opens eyes. The Word still pierces hearts. And God still draws people to Himself. Even in a world filled with noise, confusion, and spiritual resistance, the truth of Christ shines brighter than ever. The enemy blinds—but Jesus restores sight. The enemy confuses—but Jesus brings clarity. The enemy deceives—but Jesus is the truth.
Pray for those who are blinded by the enemy. Ask God to open their eyes to the beauty of Christ. Be patient with those who struggle to believe. Share the gospel with clarity and compassion. And remember—every conversation, every act of love, every moment of truth is a beam of light pushing back the darkness. The battle is real, but the gospel is stronger.
“Satan’s chief aim is to keep souls in darkness; his master‑strategy is deception.” — A.W. Pink
