“Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith” – Romans 12:6
Each believer has been uniquely endowed with spiritual gifts, not merely talents developed over time, but divine abilities given by God to fulfill His mission. These gifts are meant to serve a higher purpose, building up the body of Christ and glorifying Him. While we may question what our specific gifts are or how they align with our talents, the truth is that the Holy Spirit manifests Himself in countless ways, equipping us for the collective mission of the church.
Often, believers wrestle with doubt, wondering if their individual contributions truly matter. It can feel like casting a single vote in a sea of millions—“Will my part even make a difference?” Yet history reminds us that one faithful decision can ripple across generations. D.L. Moody once said, “I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. And that which I can do, by the grace of God, I will do.” His choice to embrace his giftedness led to a ministry that impacted countless lives, founded institutions, and strengthened the church worldwide. What began as one man’s obedience became a movement of God’s Spirit through collective service.
The call to us today is to embrace not only our personal giftedness but also the gifts of those around us. The church thrives when believers unite their gifts for God’s Kingdom. When we lock arms in unity, the Spirit of God moves in extraordinary ways. May you discover your gift, use it faithfully, and join with others in service. Together, we will see divine victories and fulfill God’s mission as one body, united in purpose and empowered by His Spirit.
“The gifts which believers have received are diverse, according to the measure of grace bestowed; and therefore every one is to attend upon his own gift, and to improve it faithfully, not envying others, nor neglecting his own.” – Matthew Poole
