“Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us…” – Romans 12:6
Discovering the gifts God has placed within you begins with nourishing your relationship with Christ. The more we allow Him to indwell and fill our lives, the more His gifts become evident in us. He transforms our hearts and fills us with divine power, revealing abilities that were hidden until His Spirit brought them to light. Thomas Brooks once said, “All Christ’s gifts are like Himself; they are spiritual and they are heavenly.” As Christ fills your heart, His presence becomes undeniable, and you begin to sense the power of heaven working through you.
Paul reminds us in 2 Corinthians 3:18, “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.” God’s Word is like a divine mirror, showing us who we are and shaping us into the likeness of Christ. Unlike fleeting projects that are abandoned halfway, the Lord is steadfast in His work within us. He began this transformation, and He will see it through to completion. Day by day, as we seek Him, His Spirit unveils the gifts He has placed in us, not by our own strength or resolve, but by His power working within.
Charles Spurgeon once asked, “Who knows what capabilities lie slumbering in your bosom today?” As you cultivate your walk with Christ, those hidden capabilities begin to surface. Through the changing seasons of life, the Lord manifests His gifts, revealing them as you grow in Him. When you commit to deepening your relationship with Christ, His presence fills you and His gifts shine through you. Continually seek Him in prayer and in His Word, and allow His Spirit to transform you. As He reveals your gifts, embrace them and use them to serve others and glorify His name. In doing so, you fulfill His divine purpose and discover the joy of living as His vessel.
“Believers have different gifts, according to the grace given them; all are for the good of the body.” – John Gill
