Lean Into Grace

“But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe.” – Romans 3:21-22

For chapters Paul took us down the tunnel of human sin, exposed from every angle under God’s righteous judgment. The verdict was crushing: all have sinned, all fall short—no exceptions. The law was never a ladder we could climb to heaven—it was a mirror to show our need for a Savior. But now, in Romans 3:21, we pivot: “But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed…” It’s like sunlight piercing through a stormy sky—hope finally breaking into hopelessness.

This righteousness isn’t earned—it’s received. Paul says it’s through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. This is where grace walks in, not with conditions, but with open arms. The law once said, “Do this and live,” but grace says, “Believe and live.” And it’s not just for the Jew with the scroll or the Gentile with a conscience—it’s for anyone, everyone. Think of Rahab, a Gentile harlot, grafted into God’s family by faith. Or Abraham, counted righteous before the law even existed. Righteousness isn’t tied to pedigree or performance—it’s tied to Jesus. When we trust Him, we’re clothed in the very righteousness of God.

So here’s the practical path: Stop trying to earn what’s already been offered. If your life feels like a spiritual treadmill—running hard but getting nowhere—step off and lean into grace. Let faith reorient your inner compass. Because if we’re a degree off here, we’ll miss the joy, peace, and victory found in Christ. Instead of striving, start abiding. Let His righteousness settle your soul and transform your steps. Today, trade law-keeping for faith-living—your new life begins there.

“It is grace at the beginning, and grace at the end. So that when you and I come to lie upon our death beds, the one thing that should comfort and help and strengthen us there is the thing that helped us in the beginning… Not what we have been, not what we have done, but the Grace of God in Jesus Christ our Lord.” – Dr. Martin Lloyd-Jones
