“And He sent Peter and John, saying, ‘Go and prepare the Passover for us, that we may eat.’ So they said to Him, ‘Where do You want us to prepare?’” – Luke 22:8–9
When Jesus told Peter and John to prepare the Passover, He gave them specific instructions—details they could not have known on their own. Yet when they followed His words, they found everything exactly as He said. This wasn’t the first time Jesus did this. Before His triumphal entry in Matthew 21, He sent two disciples ahead with precise directions, and again, everything unfolded exactly as He promised. Jesus wasn’t just organizing logistics—He was teaching His disciples to trust His voice, respond to His leading, and obey even when the instructions didn’t fully make sense.
We often feel that same tug on our hearts—a nudge, a prompting, a quiet whisper that feels like Jesus speaking to us. But instead of responding, many of us brush it off as our own imagination. The disciples didn’t do that. They didn’t end the conversation. They didn’t tell Jesus what they wanted. They asked Him what He wanted. And when they followed His direction, they saw His word come to life. Obedience opened the door to revelation. Their willingness to respond allowed them to experience the accuracy, faithfulness, and reliability of Jesus’ voice.
Today, Jesus may be speaking to you. Maybe He is asking you to make a move, surrender something, start something, or stop something. Maybe He is calling you to accept Him into your life for the first time. Whatever it is, don’t end the conversation. Don’t assume it’s just your thoughts. Turn toward Him and ask, “Lord, what do You want?” His instructions will always lead you to His will—and His will is always good.
What is Jesus speaking to your heart today? Will you brush it off, or will you respond? Ask Him what He wants, listen for His voice, and obey what He says. When you follow His leading, you will find things exactly as He promised.
