Found People Find People

“Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ. – Romans 16:25

The book of Romans closes with a powerful reminder: the gospel does not begin with us—it begins with Jesus Christ. Paul writes, “Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ…” (Romans 16:25, NKJV). The gospel’s source is not human wisdom, religious effort, or moral improvement. It flows from the life, death, and resurrection of Christ Himself. Without Christ, there is no gospel. But without people, the gospel is not heard. God has chosen to transmit His message through human voices, human feet, and human hearts.

Paul makes this clear in Romans 10:14–15, asking how anyone can believe unless someone tells them. Scripture says, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace…” (NKJV). That’s why Andrew, after meeting Jesus, immediately went to find his brother and said, “We have found the Messiah” (John 1:41, NKJV). That’s the pattern—found people find people. There’s an old story of Jesus returning to heaven after His resurrection. When asked if everyone on earth knew what He had done, He said, “Not yet—only a few know.” When asked what His plan was to spread the message, He replied, “I asked Peter, James, and John to tell others, and the others to tell still others.” The angel asked, “But what if they forget? What if they grow weary?” Jesus answered, “I have no other plan. I’m counting on them.”

And that’s where we come in. We are part of the plan. We are the messengers. The gospel’s source is Jesus Christ, but its spread depends on ordinary believers carrying extraordinary news. God could have written the gospel in the sky or thundered it from the heavens, but instead He placed it in our mouths, our hands, and our lives. We are the ones who carry the message forward—one conversation, one invitation, one act of love at a time.

You were not saved to be silent. Someone brought the gospel to you—now bring it to someone else. Ask God today for one person to encourage, one conversation to begin, one step of obedience to take. The gospel came to you because it was heading to someone else. Be part of the plan.

“The Christian mission is rooted in the sending of the Son. There is no gospel without Him, and no mission without us.”— John Stott
